A few days ago Cory Doctorow wrote about an idea for an "old friends" email analyzer [which I found via Blogdigger News]:
Today, I have an iTunes playlist ("Old friends") that just plays highly rated songs that haven't been played in the past 30 days. Why not a smart to-do list that reminds me to email old friends that I haven't called or written in the last season (credit: Alice)?
This is a great idea! I'm so bad about keeping in touch with people. This could be integrated into an email client. Why not add a "last contacted" field to addressbook entries that is automatically set whenever you mail that person? Maybe also a "last heard from" field that is set when you receive mail from that person. Then, there could be a filter that would list all the people that you haven't mailed in x amount of time.
Does such an application exist? I'm looking for one. Or maybe a script to analyze mail files....Time to get to work :).
